Lucy Dore

Textile Artist

I really like the idea of “I Am ME!” – engaging with people in terms of ongoing rediscovery of identity – something I am definitely aware of myself… I have previously been involved in workshops and various projects with galleries some of which you can see here:

After Marco & Lamb (2016)
After being selected for New Art West Midlands 2015, Compton Verney Art Gallery offered me the opportunity to reflect upon their Marx-Lambert collection which comprises of the work of designer and artist Enid Marx and the folk, or popular art collection she shared with her long-time friend, the historian Margaret Lambert.

London Craft Week (2015)
Created with Daniel Durnin in response to The Crypt at St Pancras Church, for a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) & Griffin Gallery collaboration, exhibited as part of London Craft Week 2015.

Based on the iconic London Brick, the works comprises 160 quarter-size resin bricks, each embedded with a ‘small memory’, the trace of a past life or narrative, represented through objects found on walks through London.

Tandem Story Quilt (2016)
A project at a the Tandem Festival in which I created a ‘story quilt’ with festival goers. Each created a small section of the quilt embedded with a personal story. This was then stitched into a large quilt.
